CHAIRMAN'S CHATTER

Chairman's Chatter Home

November 05

I cannot really believe that Christmas is here again, but the good news is that we have a Christmas party thanks to the kindness of Brian and Kay. Brian will collect offers of food soon, so have your suggestions ready for him please.

OO gauge Matters

Lots of running is still taking place, which is good to see. I promise to take part as soon as the gremlins are found relating to the old wiring at Itchen bottom. It will be good for all the 7mm members to “have a go”. Work on pavements and surrounding furniture continues to complete the ‘town’ scene over Itchen Vale station.

EM gauge Matters

“Harvest Festival” has been celebrated at Plumbleigh St James with the ploughing of newly laid fields. Membership to the EM section has increased by 50%. This does not necessarily mean work on the layout will increase in proportion I fear.

O gauge Matters

Our plans remain roughly on schedule to complete the new wiring at Canal Junction and the communication system with the other
two stations by the end of November. As mentioned above some of the Lemaco point motors are playing up and this has caused problems on running nights but we hope to have cured them by 7th December, our last running night of 2005. We are exhibiting Abbotstone in April and our thoughts will soon turn to reliable stock to run. We shall also need to re-run the sequence a few times
to remind ourselves of the pitfalls etc. For this our Fiddle Yard will be brought back into use.

Other Business

The Treasurer has asked me to remind you that subscriptions for 2005/2006 are now due.

Please note the date of the Dinner next year.
