Advance notice:

Abbotstone is due to go to Alexandra Palace, March 22nd and 23rd. Lots of help will be needed.
Mawgan Porth is going to Fareham on Saturday 26th April.

Roger is currently investigating the supply of club shirts, as you will recall Sam always looked after these for us. Roger has the disc of our logo and is getting prices for shirts for those members who would like one. Various styles are available but I would urge us all to stick to the navy blue option for colour please.

OO Gauge Matters

Fiddle Yard Track Work

Progress on the construction of the fiddle yard storage sidings has continued. All team members have taken part in the sleeper laying, rail soldering as well as the "back stage" cutting and gapping of thousands of copper clad sleepers!

Production has commenced on the small units that switch the fiddle yard point work frog polarity. Great initiative has been shown in manufacturing these items!
An ingenious design has been developed for point switching. It utilises MERG hardware and will eventually be controlled via Arduino boards. It is a very cost effective solution.

Track work linking the scenic section with the fiddle yards

Work has progressed on completing the "link track work" connecting the main running lines thorough the station to the fiddle yard track work. To enable trains to run at the earliest opportunity `PECO track is being used temporarily to complete areas still requiring handbuilt track and chairs.

Platforms

Work is progressing on the construction of the station platforms.

Future Work

Upcoming work will include the design of the across baseboard wiring together with the development of the layout control system

EM gauge Matters

The invitation to show Mawgan Porth at the Fareham Show in April is concentrating our efforts to get the layout in running order well before then.

O gauge Matters

Following Beckenham, the layout has been repaired and tested.

Roger has completed the building of the new turntable for the Canal Junction MPD and following painting this will be installed and track laid at this corner of the layout.

In due course, Canal Junction will be fitted with an interlocked lever frame to bring it in line with the rest of the 7mm layout. This will simplify the electrical requirements for this area.

Other Business

The Christmas party this year is at the Cart and Horses with Eddie in charge of arrangements.
As shown in the diary, the Dinner is also in this current period. Please put the date in your diaries NOW.
