 Chairman’s Chatter

The exhibition season is well and truly upon us now. Thank you to all members who can help with the whole procedure from loading, operating and returning the layout to its home. Consecutive weekends are not good but we should not have too many of these.

00 Gauge Matters

Focus has been on running and fettling as we get ready to operate Redbridge at the Farnham show on 8th/9th October. Operators are hopefully now feeling more confident in operating the entire layout, as we ran additional sessions in September to give as many members an opportunity to run as possible. Thanks to all, particularly those who came outside normal club hours to practise.

Dave has been carrying out further fault finding with our communication problem in the route setting, which affects setting routes into and out of the Reception roads.

Nick has been tweaking the public facing ‘departure screen’ software, and Richard R and Clive have been working on new brackets and a transport method for the computer screens.

Yard stock and trackwork has been worked on, and three additional uncoupling magnets added in strategic places to aid in shunting.

Club board ‘D0’ now has its trackwork painted and ballasted, and the push continues with finishing off and motorising all the remaining signals.

EM gauge matters

Trackwork has been repaired following possible heat expansion issues and is undergoing thorough testing

0 Gauge matters

I have now completed about a third of the baseboard plug and sockets changes, mainly hampered by supplies. However more have now arrived and so work will continue after the AGM.

All items required for the DC/DCC switching have also arrived and I shall also proceed at home preparing for the changeover. Help will be appreciated when ready to changeover.

Other Business.

The AGM is upon us with a change of Treasurer. I would like to thank Peter for his excellent work since 2006 looking after our accounts.

Please do your best to attend the AGM as we do make important decisions that affect us all.
