Aug '10

Lots of items in the events list this month. Please note the important ones in your diary especially the club AGM.
Our trip to Telford is looming with our eyes on the "Whitchurch Town" layout by Jeff.
Following that we look forward to taking Abbotstone to the Warley show.

OO gauge Matters

No news to report here

EM gauge Matters

After sampling various makers' cobblestone offerings, we decided to use Wills' plasticard version for the quayside area. This has now been laid and painted ready for the fiddle yard scenic break and quay buildings.
Construction of an inclined yard approach road, which will link the scenic break to the goods yard, is to start soon.
Work continues on the station platforms with the "ash-felt" surface now being applied.

O gauge Matters

The town scene continues to grow and Hobleys chimney is complete with Fred Dibnah replacing a coping-stone at the top. The chimney will be entered in the GOG competition at Telford.
The new gantry replacing the colour light signals is in place in the fiddle yard.
Gantry signals for Itchen Bottom are also under construction.

Other Business

The Summer party has come and gone, thanks to David for hosting another super evening, and thanks again to all the food producers.
Now we look forward to the Christmas party so I regret I must ask for another host to volunteer please. It would be good to know your name by the AGM.
