Nov '10

Thank you to all who assisted with Abbotstone at the Warley show. It was a long weekend but I believe that we all enjoyed the experience. A special thank you to those who assisted whose interests are not necessarily 0 gauge. Without your help we would have not been able to run such an intensive service.

I am pleased to say we were Highly Commended for our signalling by the Signalling Record Society.

OO gauge Matters

No news to report here

EM gauge Matters

Considerable progress has been made in recent weeks. The buildings along the harbour together with the bridge over the track to the fiddle yard have been completed and put in place. A coal stage is being constructed. The station building and goods shed have been temporarily placed in position.

O gauge Matters

There will be the inevitable post mortem after the show and there will be, no doubt, a few changes to make to help operation generally. My special thanks go to Jeff for the intensive effort he made to get the fiddle yard control up and running in time. Thanks also to Dave who visited the club to clean the track, and improve some of the scenery. Keith's extra town scene has vastly improved the overall effect, pity we shall not enjoy it at the club. (I feel a wall coming down to enable us to erect it!)
Running will soon commence using both rooms but we must keep Abbotstone ready for the next show.

Other Business

Our two Winter social events are included in the diary. Please be ready to tell David what you are able to take to the Party on 22nd December.

The Dinner date has now been fixed. More details from Mick nearer the time.
